Whizzing past hundreds of thousands of years, Wurtz very briefly touches on most ancient empires and helps you remember why history is fun

"Crash Course World History" Series by Crash Course: In 42 videos, well-known author John Green explains the essentials of global history with quirky animations and reoccurring jokes.

Books

Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond: Parts of this book were required reading for our class. Diamond explains the reasons why Eurasians seem to dominate the world throughout history, debunking notions that a culture could be genetically superior to others. Delving into geography and society, this book teaches you how civilizations develop in the first place.
